A Shop in the Muslim Quarter - February 2017
This store is on Beit HaBad Street in the Muslim Quarter, which is the largest and most populous of the four quarters. Like the other three quarters of the Old City, until the riots of 1929, the Muslim quarter had a mixed population of Muslims, Christians, and Jews. Today, there are only 60 Jewish families living in the quarter. Its total population was 22,000 in 2005.

The Arab market, or souq, located in the Christian and Muslim quarters of the Old City is a labyrinth of alleyways lined with shops selling everything from handmade jewelry and scarves to hookahs and ceramics.
